What Is The Secret to Having Happiness?

Wednesday, May 1st, 2013

When we ask people what makes them happy – we will typically get almost as many answers as there are people to give the answers.

Truth is that it is really different for everyone.  There are some basics of happiness – and the rest are what we call details – and those are specific to each individual specific desires.    The basics framework of happiness is selflessness.  I am sure you have heard people say how happy they were when they were giving to others or serving others.  That is a part of the basic framework of happiness.

When you see a very selfish person, who is wrapped up in themselves and what they want and everything is about them – those people are not happy.  They live in a world that is very superficial.  It has no depth and it is not truly satisfying.

The person who is serving others and gives to others has an inner peace and joy that just can’t be gained through selfishness.  That’s a fact.

The second key element of happiness is forgiveness.  That is a deep subject but let’s talk about simple forgiving tasks.  That would be incidents in traffic.  When someone pulls out in front of you in traffic – do you ‘over react’?  Do you get upset and talk about it and continue your rage for a while afterwards?  The ability to NOT over-react is an act of forgiveness and a key to happiness.

So – let’s practice these two keys – being a giving person.  Start out small – start by giving people a smile everyday and build from there.   And then being a forgiving person.  When people cut you off in traffic – practice forgiving them.  Prepare something to say ahead of time so you can have a plan and build forgiving skills.  :)   It really is that easy.

The World is Crazy

Have you had that thought lately?

When you hear the news and hear of all the horrible things happening, especially all the shootings to murder fellow citizens does it make you wonder what on earth is happening?

Well some of us do wonder that.

When we wonder this - many of us take the positive side and note that we can change the world one person at a time.  We need to make sure WE are a positive influence in this world.

Take each day as an opportunity to do random acts of kindness to others.

Take time to listen to others and let them share what’s on their mind.  Too many people are out there hurting because no one in their life has taken time to listen to them.  Families used to sit down at a dining room table and talk.  Too many families stop at a drive through on their way somewhere to do something day after day so we have a generation of people who have not had opportunities to share and communicate with others life families used to do.  I guess I am a bit old fashioned but I think maybe the world might not have so many crazy people if there was more communication through the years of our life.

Think about it and let me hear from you. :)

Have you EVER?????

Have you ever gotten a new computer … you know, after you have EVERYTHING perfect on your old one – and everything is working fine … well, maybe except the old computer?

Yep! I thought so!

I just got a new laptop.  Nice.  BUT it has WINDOWS 8.  If you get a new PC – My advice is to NOT TAKE WINDOWS 8.  Have them uninstall it and put WINNDOWS 7 on it.  This new WINDOWS 8 is soooo annoying.  It is set up like a tablet.  There’s no start button (anywhere) and it is so hard to find things.  It almost acts like it is not a windows operating system.

So, also right after I got the new lap top with WINDOWS 8, I got a new host – much cheaper – but then I have had to begin moving everything over.  Talk about pressure.  It is amazing.  I am trying to get everything installed on my new PC AND get all my files here on my new laptop… and also get all my sites set up and working on the new hosting site.  I think I wasn’t thinking when I decided to move to a new host at the same time I had all this other going on.

I will be working to get this site set back up — as soon as possible.

Also, I am planning on adding some new features to this site. :)

Come back and check it out . . .

Enjoy and Be Blessed!
